Teach English Using the Soccer World Cup

Use the FIFA World Cup in Germany as a tool for teaching English?
No, I'm not kidding. Using popular events like the FIFA World Cup in Germany to learn English is in fact practical. Students' affective filter (Krashen and Terrell, 1983) is so low with events like this to learn English, "a cockroach can go on.

You can imagine the reactions of my students when I announced, "For everyone's English class watching World Cup matches?

"This is fantastic!" "Professor, is the best!" "Oh man, never had a budget well in English!"

Although not a big football fan myself, I think it would be interesting to see games between teams never know how each other play during the regular season. Italy-Ghana? The E.U.A. against the Czech Republic? Holland x Ivory Coast? Awesome!

The work of the games in the English language to practice, students should use their skills in a variety of ways, using Task-Based Learning (J.
